SUMMARY & SUGGESTION
SUMMARY
My needs and expectations were successfully met by the SeaTeacher Program Batch 9 at Mariano Marcos State University, which aims to promote cultural exchange and practical teaching experience. It was a fulfilling experience that advanced both my career and personal development yet it needs an improvement in the procedures of practicum where the procedures for the Sea-Teacher Program were not well-structured and disorganized. We didn't have a fixed schedule of what we will do during this program even, for the teaching practice itself, I thought this the importance one. The Sea-Teacher program produced very positive results, including substantial personal development, enhanced teaching abilities, and a heightened awareness of cultural diversity. In these aspects, the program surpassed my expectations. The challenges faced during the practicum were I couldn't control my nervousness and didn't pay attention to time management well. For example, when the students were working on their worksheets and I was supposed to give 15 minutes but it turned out to be more than that. To sum up, I have nothing but positive things to say about the Sea-Teacher Program Batch 9. It was a profoundly transformative experience that not only fulfilled but also greatly surpassed my expectations. The program's thoughtful emphasis on both cultural exchange and teaching experience has improved my life and given me insightful new skills. I feel a great deal of gratitude for the program's influence on my career and personal development as I head back home.
SUGESSTIONS
I want to express my gratitude for the opportunity to participate in the Sea-Teacher program hosted by Mariano Marcos State University and I would like to thank all the coordinators of the Sea-Teacher Batch 9 Program at Mariano Marcos State University for providing living facilities during this program and we got so much useful information about many places in Ilocos Norte. My experience was undeniably enriching, but I would like to offer a suggestion for future improvements, especially in situations where a fixed schedule and adequate teaching practice may be lacking. First and foremost, a more organized approach would result in a more cogent and successful learning experience thus, gaining real-world teaching experience is the main goal of the program, even though cultural exchange is an essential component but, it would be beneficial to make sure that participants have lots of chances to receive practical instruction. This could be accomplished by working together with resource teacher or cooperating teachers by clearly defining the amount of hours or sessions that will be taught during the program. It's critical that participants in the program and the host university have open lines of communication. Participants may feel more informed and involved if schedules, expectations, and changes are communicated on a regular basis. The host university can guarantee that the Sea-Teacher program continues to be beneficial and influential for every participant by taking care of these issues. A more organized timetable would provide mentorship, more opportunities for teaching practice, and clearer communication, all of which can enhance the quality and educational value of the program. Thank you for considering these suggestions, and I look forward to seeing the program continue to grow and evolve positively in the future since there is no perfection that comes from perfection, perfection comes from the flaws that we try to fix, just like what Mr. Marky said to me "mistakes and shortcomings that occured during your demo-teaching are part of your learning process". Because in the end, Mariano Marcos State University has become part of our life journey and that of our family. Maraming salamat po.....
